Great weekend

This past weekend was so much fun. I have been house/dog-sitting for my parents this past week and a half. This past weekend was a lot of fun. Friday, we had dinner with B's family at Mi Cocina! It was great then on Saturday B and I did a little Christmas shopping and stopped by Preston Center to see Santa's reindeer. As we were there we ran into B's brother's family and had lunch with them. After that we came back. My maid of honor in my wedding came over and we did some wedding related things and hung out. Then, Bill my brother showed up at home with his christmas present to himself a puppy named Bentley. I called B to come and see it. After that Kristina had to leave and B and I went to look at Christmas lights. We took the dogs, Harley and Riley with us and then stopped by to get dinner on the way back. Sunday, we went to Church and continued Christmas shopping. Then, we went and bought the movie Cars 2. We watched it and LOVED it!!! I am sure when we have our own kids someday we won't have to worry about buying kids movies cause we already do!

This coming weekend should be fun too. Friday, no plans which will be fun. Saturday a bridal shower for me and Caylx followed by a play on Sunday afternoon. We are getting excited for Christmas and looking forward to finishing our shopping.

great weekend

This past weekend was so much fun! Friday morning I went to my first junior group of the dallas garden club meeting. It was a little overwhelming but I enjoyed going to it and look forward to future meetings. Friday afternoon, my Mom and I looked at wedding dresses for the first time. That made the engagement all that more real to me. I enjoyed trying on different dresses and documenting them for memory. I am looking forward to looking again too. Then, Saturday Ben went with me to get a new car batery. On Friday, I realized my car battery was dead :( So, Saturday I was off to get a new battery. Ben went with me just to keep me company. Then, we went to the SMU tailgate and football game. SMU won! Which was great. Sunday, we just hung out at Ben's place and stayed in and watched the Emmy's last night. I am glad that Modern Family got so many great awards. I love that show.

Weekend

This past weekend was a lot of fun. Friday, B and I went to dinner with my cousin and his wife to Manny's. We had a great time catching up with them. Saturday, I had lunch with an old friend and then Ben and I just hung out, and tried to stay inside with all the crazy heat. Today, we went to church and did more of the same. I am looking forward to Labor Day weekend. Not sure what we will do, but I hear we might get some rain. If you do not remember, rain is the wet stuff that falls from the sky. Also, working on wedding stuff too.

a great weekend

This weekend was so much fun. Thursday night we went to see Band of Horses in Concert, if you did not see that post click here. Friday we watched the movie Little Fockers, which was so funny. I think Meet the Parents is my favorite. Then Saturday B and I went to see the movie Limitless, which is a great movie. If you have not seen it yet you should. Sunday we went for a 4 mile bike ride and had a great time. So, it has been a busy time.

The Fourth of July

Good evening! I thought that I should update my blog. It has been a few weeks and not a lot has happened that is worthy of putting up on here. So, here it goes. For the fourth of July I woke up and walked down to where the parade was going to be. The parade I went to was one that the community I have grown up has every year and is always fun. Personally, I think it was a little better when I was a kid and not as commercialized as it has been in the resent past years. But, I had a great time. As, I walked up I called B and as it happened he was half a block from where I was. So, I told him I would see him in a few seconds. I met up with him, his brother, sister in law, sister's brother and his mom. His dad and nephew were in the parade. So, B and I walked back to my parents house to get something to sit on. We saw B's dad and nephew and dog on the city counsil float. Also, my mom and dad were in the parade and so was my uncle, aunt and cousin. So, after we saw all of them we decided we had enough. There was a lot of lags in the long parade. So, B and I stayed up at the park for a little while and saw my parents and brother for a minute. Then we walked back to my place and then after a little while went to have lunch with B's family. It was a lot of fun. After that, I went back home and rested for a few hours. Then I called B to figure out what time to go to the country club for dinner and fireworks. I went to his place for a little while before and then we headed over. We parked on a side street which was my mom's idea and a great one at that. SO, as we were walking up into the country club my dad drove up and saw us. It was pretty funny for me to run into people like that twice in one day.
Dinner at the club was a lot of fun. I saw lots of friends and got to talk to a lot of people. Then we saw the fireworks. We were closer than we realized but it was still a great show. It did take a little while to get the fire works to start. But once they did they were great. After that I went over to B's and watched some TV and then went home.So, that has been my fourth of July. I had a great time and hope everyone else did as well.
Today, I had lunch with a friend at celeberty a local bakery. It was agreat time seeing her and catching up. It had been a long time since I had seen her. We talked about all sorts of topics which is always fun. Then this afternoon I went to my parents house to watch the dogs while they went up to the lake to check on the status of the new lakehouse we are building. So, that has been my weekend thus far. I hope your fourth of July weekend was fun and memorable.

So, recently I have been trying to get a job in teaching. One would think that this is not that difficult a task, however I tell you it is. I know I will eventually get one and am just trying to take in my life right now but sometimes I wonder. I look at it this way: You can not get a job because you need experience and you can not get experience because you can not get a job. That is how I feel right now. I know I am not alone in this but sometimes I wonder. So, I am just plugging along and taking things one day at a time. Also, I am doing my part to apply many places and am just playing the waiting game like so many other friends of mine. To everyone in this boat with me, I wish you luck.
Also, I have so many friends getting married this summer I know I have at least four weddings to go to. But, this should be a lot of fun seeing friends and celebrating with them. I guess it is wedding time of the year. This weekend will be very busy. Saturday I am going to Q's graduation lunch at Joe T's in Fort worth and then on to a wedding at 6:30 for C. This should be a fun wedding because events with the B family are always fun. So, I am looking forward to this fun packed weekend with friends and family.
