This past week has been oh so much fun. It started out early Monday morning. I had to have a "minor" surgary and had to be at the hospital at 5:45 am. Which is a little early for me personally. It started off with me and my mom on our way to the hosptial where the procedure was to take place. We get to the hosptial and there are several buildings and I had not brought the address of the building. I was thinking I would recoginze the buidling from the picture and how the nurse had desciribed it to me. Little did I think about how dark it is at 5:45 am. So my mom and I drive up the the building I think it was. We are not able to get in and of corse I did not bring my phone thiking I would not have needed it. So, we start driving around looking for this building. Note to readers: none of the buildings are labeld or at least lit at night time. So, we start driving around looking for this building. Thankfully, my mom for some reason thought that I had to be at the hospital at 5:30 am so we were there 15 minutes earlier than needed to be. This ended up being good seeing as that we could not find the building. So we are driving around and finally my mom says you did not bring the address what were you thiking. I said well, I was thiking I understood what the lady was saying where the building was. So, we stop at the ER of the hospital which was very quiet and I go in and ask the person at the front desk where my destonation was. She, of corse was not help and had no clue. So, she goes and asks her superviser which tells me some directions, which were not very good. As we are driving around I remember the web check in web site and think to call my dad and have him look up the address. As I am doing this we see two nurses taking a smoke break and oh so carefully hiding this fact from us. My mom asks the nurses where the building was at the same time my dad is giving me the address. The nurses were much more knowedgable than the lady in the ER was.
So, after talking to the two very nice nurses who were on their smoke break and my dad we finally find the building. The original building we had come to. As it turns out if you arrive earlier than 7 am you have to be escorted up to the surgical floor by a security gaurd. Who, had not been there when we had driven up to the building at frist. So, we sign in and he takes us up the special back way that you must go until the building opens at 7 am. So, I get up there and fill out all the paper work and wait. Thankfully I did not have to wait to long until my name is called. Of corse I have to go by my first name which I always feel like I am in trouble when I am called it but oh well. So, I go in to see the nurse to fill out some more paperwork and review who I am and when my birthday is. Thankfully I know the answer to these two questions. So, I am filling out the paperwork and we get to this question which reads: " do you have a living will". Now this is when you check yes you do or no you do not. I do not and I was thinking now that is depressing, all the time thinking I wonder if I need such a t thing. Then the nurse gives me four different medications before the anesthesiologist puts me to sleep. Those definantly helped.
It is funny on what you remember telling people and what you do not remember telling people before and after you have been put under. So, I remember telling the anesthesiologist that I had taken anatomy I have no idea why I told him that or the grade that I recieved in the class for that matter. I remember seeing my doctor and thinking to myself she looks kinda familiar and that she looked like a little kid all dressed up like a doctor. That could have been because she seemed to be sitting up on something like a little kid. Next thing I remember is someone telling me to breath and then I am waking up from the surgery. Apparently the doctor talked to me now, I have no memory of this what so ever. I do know when I woke up I was crying and wanted my mom. To get me to stop a nurse told me that I had to stop crying to see my mom. I think I was in so much pain and maybe that is why who knows.
They get my mom and move me over to this room to sit before I can leave the hospital. I started talking to my mom and vaguely remember telling her stuff. I was a bit out of it. Luckily it was nothing embarrassing. My mom said that we were sitting there for like an hour which she thought would never end. Personally, I had no idea that is how long it was. Then the doctor came in again to talk to me after my mom said she had talked to me before. My response was she did? I have no memory of this conversation and hope that it was not to embracing either. So, finally I am able to leave and sleep the whole way home. I was so out of it for the whole day that all I did was sleep. So that was my interesting adventure on Monday.

my weekend
This past weekend started out and ended very well at least I think. I started out on Friday, with a job interview. I learned a lot from this expereince and am slowly applying to different places. But, I felt the overall experience went well and had a positive experience. So, one interveiw down and who knows how many more in the future. I do know that I feel more ready for the next interview I go on. Friday lunch I met my friend, D for lunch which was fun to catch up and hang out. I always enjoy hanging out with D and her other friends as well. Friday evening I can not remember what I did, so I guess it was pretty exciting. I woke up late on Saturday to see that my mom had called me like 5 times. I finally called her back and figgured out what my day looked like. My mom had gotten me a couple of appointments for that day to get ready for Saturday night. While I got my nails done I saw an old friend from high school and enjoyed seeing her after so long. My next appointment it started to really rain. So thankfully another friend was there and I was able to talk to her for a while as I waited for the rain to let up to get to my car.
Saturday afternoon I just hung out and got ready for the slipper club gala. It was fun to go to and my friend B, went with me. I enjoyed seeing a lot of old friends that I had not seen in years. I finally got back home around 1:45 am so it was a late night. But I really enjoyed hanging out with B and catching up with old friends. I was not tired when I got back and did not fall a sleep until late. Sunday I spent doing nothing which was nice after such a fun weekend. SO, that is an update on my life.

Funny Dog
So earlier today I was in my car on the way back from the post office mailing a package to my brother, B who is in the marines. I was sitting at a red light- for the third time that I had to sit through the set of lights. Anyways, I look over as people often do at the car next to me. I see this little two seater black car of some sort and in the passanger seat was this very large dog. I must admit it looked really funny to see such a large dog in such a small car. The window was rolled down for two reasons at least I think. 1. Dogs like to have the widow rolled down for some reason. 2. so the person driving the car could have some more room in his very small car with his very large dog. I continue to watch the dog who stands up in the car and looks like he might fall out or something and then he circles around and sits down. I realized I must have been staring at this car for a while when the man driving the car moves the car up so I can not see the big dog.
I must admit that it was very funny and really made me laugh. I wish I had a picture to show those of you reading this but, alas I do not. So, you will have to use your imagination. Hope you thought this was as amusing as I did in the car.

Party party party
This past Saturday, Feburary 9th I had a party at my place. The party was so much fun. I thought that only 12 or so people were going to be at the party. However, I was in for a plesent surprise when there were around 25 people at my party. The party was so much fun and I think that everyone had a great time. I have the guitar hero game and the American Idol Kareoke playstation 2 games. Both games were a hit at the party and I enjoyed watching people trying to sing. All of the food that was out was gone and almost all of the drinks were gone as well. Everyone had left by 11:30 or so and then I started to clean up which did not take very long at all. So, all in all I had a great time and hope everyone that came by had a great time as well

Siblings
Something that I have recenly been thinking about is siblings. I have two brothers, myself and have seen how they intenteract with one another. I have noticed that siblings that are the same sex seem to have a bond that is different than between siblings that are the opposite gender. My friends who have sisters seem to be closer and brothers seem to be closer. Sometimes, when you are the odd sibling out it feels like you can be a little left out because you do not have a sibling that is the same gender as you. But, at the same time I can have a bond with my brothers in a different way. Anyways, these are just my thoughts

SMU Tate Lecture Series: Martin Sheen
Tonight I had the opportunity to go to the SMU Tate lecture series and see Martin Sheen speek. I think he is a great actor and person. I really enjoyed seeing and hearing the person behind the actor. He had many great stories to tell and kept the audience over the time but I enjoyed what he had to say. I think that he is someone that puts his whole self in everything he does from acting to public speaking and his life in general. I think it was very interesting learning about an actor from an actor and felt that that information is the best kind. I feel that Martin Sheen is a very interesting man who has made it though many obsticals in his life in which he shared with the audience and the obsticals of his family.
There were great questions asked by audience members. My favorate one was from an SMU student. He asked what Martin thought about the media and the images todays stars are leaving on todays youth. I thought Martin answered this one very well. He said that actors are just regular people with regular and some not so regular problems. And he talked about the battle of addiction and how being a celeberty is hard with people watching your every step. Also, Martin gave lots of great advise to students studying theater. I thought it was great that when he was asked if he had to do it all over again and be an actor would he. He said he would do it all over again because it is something inside him that is a driving force.
So with all this said and I know that I did not do a very good job in summing up what i heard tonight. I am so glad that I was able to go and see an actor in a once in a lifetime opportunity to hear a great actor speak as himself. During this interview, I could not stop but think I feel like I am on the set of the guy on Brovo, who interviews movie stars, you know the one with the blue cue cards, I am not sure of his name. But, it was a great evening for me to spend learning more about the private life and thoughts of a very public figgure.

Mr. MD Can you tell whats ailing me?
I am not a hudge fan of going to the doctor and will put it off as long as possible. Any of my friends can tell you that I had bronchitous for 6 weeks before I went to the doctor cause I was caughing so much. I finally went and got some medicine and felt so much better after a while. So these next few weeks I have 3 doctors appointments so that should be oh so much fun. But the good thing is at the present time I have time to get all of these appointments out of the way. So it should be a fun next few weeks.

margarita
This story takes place a few months back but thought I would share it. Back in August my family had a homecoming party for my brother, who had come home from being on deployment. The party was so mcuh fun and we had family and friends come. Well, that night I decided I would order a margareta beacuse everyone else was ordering one. Well, anyone that knows me very well would be very surprised by this decision. I am not a big drinker if you ask any of my family or friends. So, I decide that I am going to drink the whole drink. I did not know that this drink would be so strong. So, I am sitting there doing fine and then it happend. I got dizey from the alchol and felt like people were spinning. So, I am sitting at a table with my friends: Deals, A, Trev, Ry, and Fos. Well Ry, is my cousin and is kind of an intergetic person, so I thought he was not the best person to concentraite on since he is always jumping up and down. So, I decide to concetrate on my friend Fos, who was accross from me. I told him I just needed to look at him and now as I think about it that did not come out to well. So, I explain why and he says he understands. A few minutes later I am feeling better, slightly tipsy but at least not dizy and feeling like everything is spinning anymore. So, I decide to call my best friend, EJ and share with her the fact that I have had a whole drink. So, I hand my phone to deals and for some reason I ask her to call EJ and tell her this information. Why I did not call myself I am not sure. I think I was laughing so much I felt I could not stop. So, I then decided I would go to A's appartment with friends afterwords to see her new puppy. So, my brother C, drives me and I am still laughing for no reason what so ever.
As, we get there I am feeling better and my friends are making fun of me and laughing at me and calling me drunk. Well, I think I was tipsey defenatly, but not drunk. So, I stay there for a few mintues and then we decide to go home. So, my brother, C takes me home and I go to sleep.
The next morning my dad asks me how I am feeling and continues to make fun of me and tells me I was drunk, I still claim I was just tipsy. I get a phone call from EJ a few days later wanting to know about the message on her cell phone. Apparently it was so loud where we were she was unable to hear the message and so very uncertain why Deals was calling her on my phone I tried to explain this but it did not make as much since as it had at the time. LOL So, this ends my experience with margarita's at Ozonas for now. Maybe, next time it will be a better experience.
So, for those of you who know me please feel free to laugh and take from this story what you may. And the lesson learned from this post will be to be careful.

Fonts
It has been a week since I last updated my blog. Have you ever thought about different fonts on the computer. Are there any fonts that annoy you? For me the most annoying one is new times roman, the one growing up that you always had to use to write a paper in school, or the one you use to write your resume in. I was thinking of this as I sat down to write and everytime I started it would not let me start in the font I selected. These are my thoughts and I am sticking with them.
