The Oscars part 2

So, I just finished watching the Oscars, and I thought that James Franco and Anne Hathaway did a GREAT job hosting the Oscars this year. I am also very glad that The Kings Speech won for best Actor and for best picture. I loved that movie, and if you have not seen it I strongly recommend that you do. I have not seen Black Swan, but I do love Natalie Portman and have enjoyed her movies. I am glad that Toy Story 3 won best animated movie, I really enjoyed that one as well. So, overall I was very happy with the Oscar's 2011 show.

The Oscars

Tonight, as everyone knows is the Oscar's. I am always especially excited about watching them every year. I love to watch movies and am always excited to see who wins etc. Also, I love watching the red carpet before and seeing all the dresses, the good, the bad and the ugly. Another thing I enjoy is the opening of the Oscars, and I am excited that James Franco, and Anne Hathaway are hosting this year. I am excited to see what they will do, they are the first people around my age that are hosting. So looking forward to tonight

happy presidents day

Today is presidents day, and most schools are out and some are using today as their snow make up days from a couple of weeks ago when schools were out for 5 days. Anyways, I was called this morning at 6 AM from the automated system and got up and got ready to go to work. I get there and get a call and missed it, so I checked my voice mail and see that today is teacher inservice day. Which means, no school today. So  I was not needed to sub with no kids in the building. So today, I am going to go walk on the katy trail and get some stuff done today!

3 years continued...

Last night B and I went out to dinner and just had a good time being together. Since we have been together for 3 years we talked about things that we needed to talk about. It was a great time at La dunni last night. The sad thing is that again we missed Modern Family, good thing I have two episodes on the Tivo :)

3 years

Today marks 3 years that B and I have been together. If you want to know more on that story click here. We have been together since our friends set us up on a date. I can not believe it has been 3 years already, feels like it has not been that long. Since we have had so much celebrating lately, with B's birthday and valentines day we will see if we end up doing something tonight or waiting and doing something later. Either way it has been an amazing three years and I am looking forward to what is in store for us next :)

valentines 2011

Yesterday was Valentines day. It was a good day, however I did get the flu shot and had some strange reaction to it. So, I was not feeling the best by the time it came to have our dinner. But, I did eat what I could and had a little bit of the chocolate covered strawberries, my favorite. I also slept a bit too. When I woke up this morning all feeling better. B, did give me beautiful flowers and a great card :) He does a great job, I must admit. So, that was our valentines day.

A great weekend and happy valentines day

This past weekend was a lot of fun, and a full weekend. Friday, we went to eat at Chey's. We love to walk from B's place. Then, we came back and just hung out. Saturday, I went to a friends bridal shower at the Zodiac room in Nieman Marcus-downtown. When I got back B and I went to his nephew's basketball game. It was so much fun. At the game before it started they dimmed the lights like in the NBA and introduced the teams. They had two games going at once. They do not keep score yet, and it was fun to watch them play. Saturday afternoon we just drove around and then got some dinner to go and watched You Again, which I thought was really funny. If you have not seen that movie go and see it.

Sunday, was B's birthday. We had a great day full of fun celebration. We went to the boating show, and saw a huge gieco blow up of the geco. It was fun to see that. Also, we went and walked on the Katy trail on the beautiful day it was yesterday. For dinner we went to this great restaurant with B's parents, sister in law and brother. It was a lot of fun. The food was great.

For Valentines day we went and got the Central Market dinner for two. I am looking forward to a great night. Happy Valentines day.

I am so excited that the weekend is here! This weekend is B's birthday and then there is valentines day. So, I am looking forward to having a lot of fun this weekend

Movie review

With today being another snow day, I rented a movie on Direct TV. I watched Life as we Know It today. It was a great movie and I would recommend this movie. In this movie there are two single friends, who end up having to raise their best friends baby. This movie shows the ups and downs of life. I really enjoyed the movie because it seems to be so true of life. In this movie the message was that life as you know it can change and all it takes is one minute. It can change for the worst or the best. In this movie the two single people with their own lives are thrust into a different life in just one minute. They learned that life can take you different places and in the end everything will work out for the best. The two single people were thrown together and forced to live together and learned how to become a family. This movie does a great job of showing how a child can and does change your life and the life you knew before is forever changed.

Another snow day

Now this is crazy we are now on snow day number 5. We had four last week and one today! This weather is just crazy for Dallas. Here are some pictures I just took on my camera. As I was taking them we are having snow falling too.

The snow is gone

Well, after about five days of snow it finally melted yesterday and is about all gone today. I am posting snow pictures. It was fun while it was here, but I am glad it is gone. It was crazy everything was closed here for days and schools were out for four days which is unheard of here. Crazy!

Today, we woke up and there was still a LOT of snow around. It finally melted a bit today. I can say that I really enjoy snow, but am getting a little tired of it down in Texas. It has been beautiful to look at. We are supposed to get more snow this week, so we will see.

Today is day three of snow/ice day. This has NEVER happened in my memory at all of growing up here. I can not believe all the schools have been closed for three days in a row. Growing up if the EVER closed it was for just one day and then opened up the next day. So here is to relaxing today and taking in this time.

Today we have our second snow/ice day. It is so cold outside that everything is closed. I took pictures yesterday and will post them now because, well everything still looks as it did yesterday. We are also having rolling power outages. I already have had one early this morning. At my Dad's office they are only turning the power on for 15 minutes of every hour and off for 45 minutes so that all the houses can get power. So obviously, no one is working there today either. SNOW

So today we have the first snow day of 2011 yes!  However, someone forgot to tell a local districts sub system that is automated that the school district was closed. I went and checked online after I got the call to confirm no school. Ugh, so I went back to bed for a while. The smart thing to do would have turned off the districts sub system on a day when your district is closed!
