Special Education Certification

Thanks to everyone who has read and responded to my previous post. I know that things will work out when they are ment to be. I have been thinking about getting certified to teach special education in the state of Texas. I would love to do resourse or something of that nature. So that is what I am looking into right now. I called the state of Texas to see what I have to do to get a second certification and I was told that all I have to do is take and pass the test it is as easy as that. So, today I went and bought the special education certification study guide. It was almost 80 dollars for the book, but I am hoping it will prepare me for this test. I also have found out that there are two different tests I can take. One is called special education supplemental and it works with the certification areas you already posses in my case that would be EC-4. The other test is EC-12 special education. I am trying to figgure out which would be the better test to take. The major difference as far as the test goes is that one is offered on paper or on the computer and the other one is only offered on paper and less times in a year. I am thinking I might do the EC-12 even though I want to work with elemnetary maybe, this will open up more doors down the road. So, this is what I am currently thinking. Please let me know what you, the reader thinks of this. Thanks

Sounds like a good plan! You should try volunteering at Equest, too.
