Today is only Saturday, and yet it has already been a really busy weekend. I started yesterday off with just not doing anything after a LONG day of substitute teaching with first grade. This morning started out busy. I woke up and got ready to go to the Richardson ISD job fair. It was indeed an experience. I had to wait in line outside for almost an hour just to get into the building. I feel this is one thing to hear about on the news and read about on the internet but to experience in person is something else. One big observation I noted was all of the older people changing careers or going back to teaching after an absence due to a spouse being laid off or just not being able to find a job in their desired field. So, once I got into the building and checked in I went on to the elementary gym where there were a lot of people crammed into a small area all doing their best to sell themselves in about 2 minutes along with giving the resume to the people working the job fair. So after giving out many resumes and talking to many schools I decided my work was finished for the day. Then I went by to find a family friend who works at the district to talk with her for a few minutes and after that my friend who came with me and I left. All and all we left around noon and spent a good amount of time there I thought.
This afternoon I have just been resting up and got some food. Tonight I have a friends wedding to go to and then tomorrow I plan to rest and figure out what my week will be looking like. I am excited about the wedding it will be held at St. Michael's church and then a reception I think at a local country club afterwords. So, I will update more on that later on. But that concludes by busy weekend.
