10 years already?

This past weekend was my high school class' ten year reunion. I can not believe that it has been that long, and feels like it has and has not all in one. It is an odd feeling in all. The weekend was a lot of fun full of events. It was fun talking to old friends, some whom I have not seen in ten years and others whom I have seen more recently. It was interesting to see who was the same and who had changed and sad to see those class members whom we have lost in the last ten years. In all there were 8 class members who are no longer with us. I must admit a few on there I did not know at all and one in particular I knew very well. So it should be interesting to see what the next ten years brings us.

The reunion events all started off on Friday night with an HP football game! I loved going to the game. The differences between this time and the last time I went were sitting with the elementary and middle school kids and their parents. I don't think I had ever sat on that side before that I remember. Another difference was having the feeling that the game went by much faster than I remember in high school and seeing new traditions and not know of them, which made me feel a bit old. I enjoyed catching up with the people seated around me.

Saturday, started out with a picnic outside the high school. I enjoyed catching up with people there and noted not many came as I would have thought would have come. We got a tour of the school as well. This part I found most interesting because they started to remodel the whole school my senior year and I had not seen the school since then. The person giving the tour was one of the teachers that is still there from when I was there. She has been working there for like 40 years. She went faster than I thought and we all seemed a bit confused. She did not realize that our class had mostly not seen any of the new additions at all. I could tell many people were uncertain where we were inside the school. I only recognized one or two areas of the school my self and enjoyed seeing everything that was new with old. A few of the bigger things they changed was that the school is no longer carpeted and now tilled. Also, there used to be a commonds area where only Sophmors- Seniors could go. It was sad to see it was no longer there. Also, all the fine arts had there own rooms. For example, the choir had its own area as well as the band, and orchistra. When I was there they all had to share. Another big thing is the cafeteria, which literally was in a different spot. It was just all around fun to see everything now and try to remember how it was. Which was another "old" feeling.

Saturday night there was a party for our class. I went to it for a while and got to catch up with some old classmates and see what they are up to. As previously mentioned some I had seen more recently than others. It was fun none the less and I am all and all glad I went to all the events.
