Some weeks are harder than others

This has been one of the hardest weeks I have had in a long time. My parents have two dogs that we have had since they were puppies. Harley and Riley. On Tuesday, we had to make the difficult decion for Harley, to releave him of his pain by putting him to sleep. It has been a very sad few days. Life without him around has been hard. He had a pollop on his colon, that they thought was not harmful, but with time it simply got larger and larger, until eventulaly he was unable to use the bathroom, and stopped eating. We went out of town last weekend, my brother and his wife took care of them. He said Harley was not doing well and not eating. Monday, when I got back I noticed he had slowed down and was not doing well. Tuesday, I came over to be with him and petted him and took lots of pictures. My Mom told me that it was time to take him in. It was so sad, but he was still happy right up to the end even with all the pain he was in. I miss him more than words can describe. He was a great dog, a great personality and loved to play fetch and hang out with his best bud, Riley. He was one of the best dogs I have had the pleasure of having by my side through the good times and the bad. Harley I miss you and know you are no longer in pain, and know I will see you again in Heavan.
