This past week

This past week has been oh so much fun. It started out early Monday morning. I had to have a "minor" surgary and had to be at the hospital at 5:45 am. Which is a little early for me personally. It started off with me and my mom on our way to the hosptial where the procedure was to take place. We get to the hosptial and there are several buildings and I had not brought the address of the building. I was thinking I would recoginze the buidling from the picture and how the nurse had desciribed it to me. Little did I think about how dark it is at 5:45 am. So my mom and I drive up the the building I think it was. We are not able to get in and of corse I did not bring my phone thiking I would not have needed it. So, we start driving around looking for this building. Note to readers: none of the buildings are labeld or at least lit at night time. So, we start driving around looking for this building. Thankfully, my mom for some reason thought that I had to be at the hospital at 5:30 am so we were there 15 minutes earlier than needed to be. This ended up being good seeing as that we could not find the building. So we are driving around and finally my mom says you did not bring the address what were you thiking. I said well, I was thiking I understood what the lady was saying where the building was. So, we stop at the ER of the hospital which was very quiet and I go in and ask the person at the front desk where my destonation was. She, of corse was not help and had no clue. So, she goes and asks her superviser which tells me some directions, which were not very good. As we are driving around I remember the web check in web site and think to call my dad and have him look up the address. As I am doing this we see two nurses taking a smoke break and oh so carefully hiding this fact from us. My mom asks the nurses where the building was at the same time my dad is giving me the address. The nurses were much more knowedgable than the lady in the ER was.
So, after talking to the two very nice nurses who were on their smoke break and my dad we finally find the building. The original building we had come to. As it turns out if you arrive earlier than 7 am you have to be escorted up to the surgical floor by a security gaurd. Who, had not been there when we had driven up to the building at frist. So, we sign in and he takes us up the special back way that you must go until the building opens at 7 am. So, I get up there and fill out all the paper work and wait. Thankfully I did not have to wait to long until my name is called. Of corse I have to go by my first name which I always feel like I am in trouble when I am called it but oh well. So, I go in to see the nurse to fill out some more paperwork and review who I am and when my birthday is. Thankfully I know the answer to these two questions. So, I am filling out the paperwork and we get to this question which reads: " do you have a living will". Now this is when you check yes you do or no you do not. I do not and I was thinking now that is depressing, all the time thinking I wonder if I need such a t thing. Then the nurse gives me four different medications before the anesthesiologist puts me to sleep. Those definantly helped.
It is funny on what you remember telling people and what you do not remember telling people before and after you have been put under. So, I remember telling the anesthesiologist that I had taken anatomy I have no idea why I told him that or the grade that I recieved in the class for that matter. I remember seeing my doctor and thinking to myself she looks kinda familiar and that she looked like a little kid all dressed up like a doctor. That could have been because she seemed to be sitting up on something like a little kid. Next thing I remember is someone telling me to breath and then I am waking up from the surgery. Apparently the doctor talked to me now, I have no memory of this what so ever. I do know when I woke up I was crying and wanted my mom. To get me to stop a nurse told me that I had to stop crying to see my mom. I think I was in so much pain and maybe that is why who knows.
They get my mom and move me over to this room to sit before I can leave the hospital. I started talking to my mom and vaguely remember telling her stuff. I was a bit out of it. Luckily it was nothing embarrassing. My mom said that we were sitting there for like an hour which she thought would never end. Personally, I had no idea that is how long it was. Then the doctor came in again to talk to me after my mom said she had talked to me before. My response was she did? I have no memory of this conversation and hope that it was not to embracing either. So, finally I am able to leave and sleep the whole way home. I was so out of it for the whole day that all I did was sleep. So that was my interesting adventure on Monday.

Gosh, you had your wisdom teeth out? That is so painful. You poor thing! Of course, that was a couple of weeks ago (so many things happen when I don't check blogs regularly), so you might be all better now. How are you feeling? I hope you didn't get dry socket. I heard that is so very, very painful.

Okay, I misunderstood and thought that the "minor surgery" discussed in this post was the getting your wisdom teeth out you mentioned in your most recent post. I suppose I should pay better attention. All I can say is--surgery, and then you have to have your wisdom teeth out? I don't envy you.
