Rough Riders Game

Friday, August 7, 2009 Ben and I went to see the minor league baseball team called the Frisco Rough Riders. This was my first minor league baseball experience. Ben had gone a few years back. We first drove out there earlier in the afternoon to beat the traffic, and go to the stonebriar mall. It was a fun experience to see what stores were out there. Then we decided to have an early dinner at a Applebee's before the game started. Then it was off to the game. Ben and I were both very excited because, Pete Delkus the weather man of the channel 8 news was there. We thought that it was cool to see him and he looked the same as he did on TV. Also, we had the opportunity to watch him do his news cast which was a pretty cool thing. I had not seen anyone do a news cast in person before, other than on TV. So, it was fun to see how it all worked. Then later in the game he came out on the field and had his little daughter do the weather for us. She was a cute kid and did a great job.

Another thing I thought was interesting was the people around us. During one of the longer innings, I was looking around. There was a really cute family in front of Ben and I with a little girl who was maybe three and she loved to dance to the music. I found myself laughing at her cuteness. Then the people behind me kept talking about someone they know named Mandy, which that being my name was a bit distracting. But, the game was so much fun just experiencing all that there was. Ben and I got some great nuts that had cinnimon on them and then shared a drink and some mint chocolate chip ice cream later. We ended up leaving just after the 7th inning stretch. I can not wait to go back again.
