On June 16, 2012 B and I tied the knot. It was so much fun. It was everything I thought it would be and more. The weekend started out on Friday the 15th of June with a mani/pedi party for the house party, bridesmaids, my mom and myself. Then we went to the bridesmaids luncheon that was hosted at my Aunt and Uncle's house which used to be my grandparents house. So, it was very special. Then, my Mom and I got our hair done for the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner. The rehearsal went great, and everything was really sinking in. The rehearsal dinner was so much fun. It was outside at DCC and we had great food. After the dinner there were a few short speeches by my family and B's family. It was really special.
The wedding day was so much fun. It started out with my bridesmaids meeting me at my parents house to get their make up and hair done for the big day. We had lunch, talked and played with my niece's dolls. Then it was time to go to the church. We got to the church and got dressed. After that we took our before pictures with everyone and time was going fast. Then, before the wedding was to start the minister came in and prayed with us and let us know it was time to start the wedding. We walked in and I waited to make my entrance with my Dad. As we were standing there I got really nervous but everyone calmed me down and as I walked down the isle everything was great. We said our vows and heard the sermon the minister gave and before we knew it we were officially married. After the ceremony we took pictures with the whole wedding party and of the two of us. We are looking forward to seeing these as we have not seen to many pictures yet.
Next, my parents took us to the reception where we had food waiting for us before we went in, which was the best idea ever. Because as the bride and groom you really don't get much time to just sit down. As we came in and were announced it was very surreal and then we had our first dance as man and wife. Then I had the father daughter dance and B had the mother son dance. We were so glad to do these at the beginning cause then we were able to talk with friends and family. The grooms cake was a BIG hit with everyone, it was a giant Dickey's yellow BBQ cup, which is the groom favorite BBQ place.
As we cut the cake I have never seen so many people taking pictures and video at that time and the whole nite. The cute thing was the little kids all lined up with their plates ready for cake. The funny thing was after we cut into the cake and the photographer said for us to eat some I almost put it in my mouth and he was like, no give it to B. Haha So, then I did give it to him. Then, we talked with more friends and family and had our final dance and left for our hotel for the evening. We both have had a great first month of being married and look forward to many many more.
