Texas OU weekend

This past weekend was Texas OU weekend and was so much fun. There was a lot going on. On Friday I went to the Calyx Texas OU party which was black tie. I thought it was a great time and a lot of people were there. We stayed there until 1:15 and then called it a night. Saturday we went to a Texas OU watching party at a friends house and had a great time. Sunday we went to the Texas State Fair. We got there at 10:30 or so and spent most of the day there. We ate corny dogs, saw big Tex, went on the Texas Skyway which was so much fun. We also went on a rollar coaster and had a funnel cake. The park was still a bit croweded since the day before was the game but it was fun. We also went and saw all the animals at the fair. We watched part of a Cattle contest of some sort, saw goats, ducks, dogs, geese, turkeys, and roosters. Then we went back and just relazed the rest of the day.
So that was my amazing weekend. I am still subbing and looking for jobs. I have been studying to the special ed certification test and take it in a few weeks. I feel ready. Time will tell. Well, that is all for now.

Dallas World Aquarium

Last Saturday, Ben and I went to visit my brother in Fort worth. We had lunch with him and got to tour his house which was a lot of fun. We had intended to go to the Kimball Art Museum to see the Impressionists exhibit but there was another event going on and there was not any parking. So, we decided to drive back to Dallas. In the car I had an idea to go to the Dallas World Aquarium which was sooooo amazing. If you have not been there I defininantly recomend going. This place is the most amazing I have been to. I hope you enjoy some of my picutres I have poseted on here from the aquarium.

Special Education Certification

Thanks to everyone who has read and responded to my previous post. I know that things will work out when they are ment to be. I have been thinking about getting certified to teach special education in the state of Texas. I would love to do resourse or something of that nature. So that is what I am looking into right now. I called the state of Texas to see what I have to do to get a second certification and I was told that all I have to do is take and pass the test it is as easy as that. So, today I went and bought the special education certification study guide. It was almost 80 dollars for the book, but I am hoping it will prepare me for this test. I also have found out that there are two different tests I can take. One is called special education supplemental and it works with the certification areas you already posses in my case that would be EC-4. The other test is EC-12 special education. I am trying to figgure out which would be the better test to take. The major difference as far as the test goes is that one is offered on paper or on the computer and the other one is only offered on paper and less times in a year. I am thinking I might do the EC-12 even though I want to work with elemnetary maybe, this will open up more doors down the road. So, this is what I am currently thinking. Please let me know what you, the reader thinks of this. Thanks

Job hunt don't have experience too bad

ok so I know I have not updated in a few weeks but honestly nothing has really changed to add on this blog. I have decided to substitute teach this year so I can get somemore experience so that next time I am up for a job that I will be able to get one. The main reason it has been difficult for me to get a job is that I do not posess the experience that schools or companies look for when considering someone for a job. It seems that I am stuck in the whole thing of we want you to have experience and I am sitting here thinking well how do I get experience if you will not hire me because I do not have experience circle right now. I am trying so hard. One job I applied for sent me an email that said we know this market is hard because everyone want someone with experience and those people come in and take the opportunity away from you. The worst and hardest for me is when I am told we have all been where you are sitting at some point and have all struggled to. I am thinking if you know how hard it is why don't you just give me a chance to get some experience. I hold a B.A. degree and a teaching certificate so I am qualified. I just feel I am overqualified for jobs and it is stressful.

update on my knee post surgery

I had knee surgery a month ago on July 7th. It went really well. Since then I have gone to physical therapy twice a week and have been doing my best in doing the home exersizes. I can now bend my right leg 108 degrees which is a HUDGE improvement. This is something that I have never been able to do before. I can even ride a bike and make the pedal on the right side go all around with out having to take my leg off of the pedal. SO to me this is really cool. I have two more physical therapy visits one this week and one next week and then I get to see the doctor again to see how things have gone with my leg. In my opinion I am so glad that I was able to do this at the right time for me.
In other news, I am still looking for jobs and even sent out a mass email to all my friends to ask for help in any way. So far I have received great advise and look forward to more. So I am excited to see where I will end up and just trying to have patients in this hard process.
